SYSTEM SIMULATION FOR MACHINE BUILDERS

Test your machine before you build it.

Model mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electric drives and controls in one SimulationX system model. Commission your control software virtually, find problems early and cut prototype and test-bench time.

Avoid expensive surprises on the shop floor

Mechanics, hydraulics, drives and control software are designed by different teams and only meet on the first machine. That is where the costly fixes happen.

Prototypes and test benches eat the budget

Every design loop on physical hardware costs weeks, especially for custom, small-batch machines.

Control software debugged on the real machine

Commissioning drags on, and safety-critical cases are risky or impossible to test on hardware.

Field problems you can't reproduce

A customer reports vibration, noise or a fault, and your only test rig is their production line.

WHAT MACHINE BUILDERS ACHIEVE WITH SIMULATIONX

Results presented by engineers at SimulationX user conferences

VIRTUAL COMMISSIONING

Test the PLC code before the machine exists

A global drive and control supplier coupled its existing SimulationX model of a hydraulic press to real controller hardware. Software was tested before the build, risky cases were tested safely, and final commissioning time dropped significantly.

SERVO-HYDRAULICS

Commissioned in a few days,
within ±0.25 mm

A forming-press builder designed high-dynamic servo-hydraulic axes in SimulationX. Commissioning on the real press took only a few days, with position error held within ±0.25 mm.

DIGITAL TWIN

Fix customer problems without touching the machine

A wire-processing machine builder reproduces customer faults on a mechatronic digital twin, finds the right control settings virtually, and checks new capability requests before committing.

DRIVE DESIGN

Run-up time cut in half

A textile machinery maker used template-based SimulationX models to size drives: machine run-up time fell from over 20 s to 10 s, and the simulation matched the real machine closely enough that a test bench could have been skipped.

20 s → 10 s

machine run-up time after simulation-based drive sizing.

± 0.15 mm

position accuracy achieved on the first commissioning, against a ±0.25 mm requirement.

19% → 2%

pressure pulsation cut with a damping design checked in simulation.

Built for the machines you design

Machine tools

Feed axes, spindles and bearings, gear drives, thermal behaviour, controller tuning.

Packaging, printing & textile

Intermittent-motion mechanisms, web and wire handling, multi-axis drive sizing.

Hydraulic & pneumatic components

Pumps, valves, cylinders and compact drives, from component design to the customer's system.

From model to virtual commissioning

1

Model the whole machine

Drag and drop ready-made elements for multibody mechanics, power transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics, electric drives, thermal and controls into one model.

2

Test against your control software

Couple the model to your PLC or controller code for software-in-the-loop and virtual commissioning, or export it via FMI to your other tools.

3

Optimize, then build once

Compare design variants, tune controllers and check energy, loads and wear, then go to hardware with confidence.

Questions

What is the Express Edition?

It's the free mode you can choose SimulationX to start in after installation. It's ideal for the introductory training and for getting to know the interface and libraries. Models built in the Express Edition are very limited - you can only have one copy of most components, and the total model size is limited.

How do I get a trial license of the Professional Edition?

Book a short call with one of our engineers. We'll learn about your application and activate a 30-day full trial license.

Can SimulationX connect to my PLC or my other tools?

Yes. Models can be coupled to real or virtual controllers for software-in-the-loop testing and virtual commissioning (e.g. via OPC-UA), and exchanged with other tools via the FMI standard and co-simulation.

We don't have time to build models. Can you help?

Our engineering services team can build the model or digital twin for you, or alongside your engineers so they can take it over.

What are the system requirements?

To ensure that SimulationX is executable on your system, certain minimum hardware requirements must be met.
