Probably a rather trivial question regarding the modelling of 1D mechanics. How to model the fall of a ball onto an elastic substrate and its reflection. What “constrain” needs to be assumed. The problem is that I can do this with a velocity constraint. However, when I model the distance from which the weight is supposed to fall, the spring immediately pulls out, and I want the beginning to be a free fall.
